Our vachetta is our premium cowhide leather and has a buttery soft appearance with a soft hand treated all the way through with transparent dye. The effect is applied by immersing the leather in a “dye” bath. Because the finish is transparent and shows the natural markings, only our best quality hides can be used. This leather is untreated and unprotected leather that has been tanned (treated to become nonperishable), but not colored or otherwise finished. It is normally used in the trimming of luggage, handbags, carving, embossing, etc…
