Why Vegetable-Tanned leather

Vegetable tanning is the oldest form of leather tanning. The process involves using natural tannins such as tree bark that are absorbed within the hide during the tanning process. Vegetable-tanned leathers have excellent longevity and achieve a gorgeous patina over time. 

All RS4F Leather is made to order by a world renowned tannery in Leon, Mexico.

Vachetta is minimally greased, vegetable-tanned leather from thin hides of cattle. This high-quality leather is the preferred choice for designer footwear and accessories. Over time vaqueta leather acquires a fine patina with wear.

Single and Double Shoulder leather is cut from the upper portion of the hide. It is leather that has not been altered except for hair removal.
